Don't buy an Apple Laptop Until You Read This!

Apple has been developing some of the best laptops that money can buy and they have three great Apple laptop computers that are quickly dominating the laptop market.  Apple laptop computers were first released onto the market in May of 2006.

The Apple Macbook Pro comes in 13, 15 and 17 inch choices, and has uni-body titanium construction.  This Apple has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2.8 GHz, which comes standard in the 17-inch choice.  The Macbook Pro is the premium offering of the Apple laptop computers.  There is over 500GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.  It comes standard with the latest version of Apple’s OS X, “Snow Leopard”.  You can expect to pay quite a bit for the Macbook Pro, between $1,100.00 and $2,500.00 depending on the screen size you choose.

The next in the line of Apple laptop computers is the Apple Macbook.  Weighing in at 4.7 pounds, it has an LED backlit display and a 13-inch screen.  This little laptop comes with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard drive.  You can expect to get about 7 hours of battery life.  This little machine also comes with a built in web cam so that you can easily create web videos or self-portraits.  If you don’t need all that power that comes in the Apple Macbook Pro, this is a solid choice.

The Apple Macbook Air is the lightest and most portable of the Apple laptop computers.  It is just an inch thick and weighs 3 pounds.  It also features a 13-inch screen.  There is no disk drive, but it does have 3 ports including the audio out, USB 2.0 and a Mini DVD jack so that you can connect you Macbook Air to an outside display.  The Macbook Air has 2 GB of RAM and a 120 GB hard drive.  This is a very good choice if you do not require a lot of processing power or speed.  If you just need to check email, do some word processing, surf the internet, listen to music, play some basic games and watch movies, this is a good choice and most likely the best value for your dollar.

In short, when you compare Apple laptop computers, you should consider the following:

  • How much hard disk space you need;
  • Memory requirements;
  • Your price range (important – before you get your heart set on something you cannot afford)
  • If you are going to be carrying your laptop around, you need one that is highly portable, so the Macbook Air is the lightest and best choice for portability;
  • Read all the reviews that you can about each model, compare each against your needs and how they fit the bill.

The best thing about this line of laptops is the constant improvements and updates.  Each time Apple makes a significant improvement, you are able to pick up one of their previous offerings for a lower price. Apple also has all sorts of accessories to go with their laptops. If you love the Apple laptop, but just can’t afford it right now, wait for about six months and then try your luck again.  It is likely that you will notice prices have dropped significantly. There are a lot makers of laptops like Asus, Dell, Gateway, Acer and Sony however Apple has made a real name for themselves in the industry.   As technology changes and improves, you will find that you get more for your money.

Apple Laptop Computers

When it comes to Apple laptop computers 2 major lines come to mind. The first of which is the Apple MacBook. The MacBook was first introduced in May of 2006. The MacBook was positioned to take the place of the iBook as well as the 12 inch PowerBook, as part of the Apple Intel transition. Within the MacBook family Mac books were aimed towards college students entering the consumer market.

The MacBook was released in three separate versions, the first of which was modeled after the iBook G4 and used a polycarbonate casting. 15 inch MacBook Pro was then released which was then rebranded as the 13 inch MacBook Pro.

The original MacBook was a 15 inch model that was released in 2006 during Mr. Steve Jobs keynote speech at the MacWorld Expo. Later that year the 17 inch model was unveiled. The MacBook had some extraordinary features including a battery constructed of lithium-ion polymer that were shaped to fit into the Apple laptop computers with a space saving design.

Apple laptop computers also managed to maximize the lifespan of the battery by using what is known as adaptive charging technology. Through the creation of a chip that optimizes the charges Apple was able to reduce wear and tear therefore extending a battery life span beyond that of other units.

The MacBook Pro held a battery life of over eight hours when new and would still function at about 80% capacity after 1000 charges. This technology pushed the lifespan of all of the MacBook batteries to about five years.
